5 Smart Ways to Search for a Security Role
You know you want to work in the security field, but where to start? While there are many ways to search for that role, below are five smart ways you can search for an entry level job or internship that you may or may not have considered.
1) Search Company Websites – The old fashioned ways are still relevant. Search the career pages of security companies for details on vacancies or internships. Alternatively, search Graduates in Security's Company Profiles Page for a list of 50+ companies with recruitment and internship details highlighted or follow us on Twitter for regular entry level job postings and internships.
2) Submit a General Application – while some companies may not have a position listed, they may be thinking about it. Therefore it cannot hurt to submit a general application to the company. 3) Use a Specialist Recruitment Websites / Blogs – While recruitment companies have long been known to help people get into work, there are a number of specialist recruitment websites dedicated to getting you a role in security. 4) Use LinkedIn – LinkedIn has lots of security roles advertised. Search the jobs section of the website with key words such as “Security Analyst”, “Intelligence Analyst” or “Security Consultant” and make sure you set your search as wide as possible.
